We’re committed to providing a holistic service so that the overall needs of the child are met. This means that we explore all aspects of the child’s development and influencing environmental factors, as well as targeting the initial area of concern.

A little about our services…

At Little Lionheart, Hannah offers a range of child and family centred services to support the children she sees. She specialises in the areas of early speech and language development, infant and child feeding, fluency (stuttering) and emotion coaching, and works with children who have mild delays, through to those with significant developmental delays and disorders.

Services offered include individual in-clinic, home and community-based sessions in the child’s learning environment. Hannah also offers parent group programs for speech and language development and emotion coaching, as well as consultancy and group sessions for early childhood educators.

A little about the way we work…

When it comes to seeing a client, there is always more at play than just what’s been identified as the overarching concern. Hannah’s approach takes all aspects of a child’s development into consideration during assessment and when planning for therapy. This is done in consultation and collaboration with the family, as it needs to suit the family unit as much as it does the child.

If something isn’t working for the child, we will work together to figure out what’s missing or not aligning and adapt our approach accordingly. The therapy and support offered is individualised to each child and family because as we know, there is no such thing as a one size fits all approach.

Hannah has practised as a paediatric speech pathologist for over 18 years and has worked in a wide variety of settings over this time, including community health and early childhood intervention for children with developmental delays and disabilities. She understands what works best for families in terms of service delivery and understands that working with the child also means working with the family. Her calm, warm and gentle nature enables her to build rapport with children easily and encourages open communication with families to ensure best outcomes.

As a practitioner who is committed to ensuring best outcomes for children and their families, Hannah has engaged in extended and ongoing learning in the areas of infant and childhood feeding, social and emotional development, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing, family violence, bullying, and stuttering.

Hannah is a proud Mum of two young boys, who are her greatest teachers and inspire her every day. Being a parent has taught her a lot about the challenges families face and helps her to support other parents in their parenting role.

Outside of her Early Years work, Hannah is a Hahnemann Healing (emotional energy healing) practitioner for both children and adults, and still does a little floristry to flex her creative muscle from time to time. She has a penchant for the beauty and free flow of nature, which may explain her rambling garden and her home being slightly overwhelmed with house plants! Hannah also loves animals and values the joy and love they bring to our lives.

A little about Hannah…

“Sometimes children tell us things in their behaviour that give us important clues about what’s going on for them, even if they can’t clearly express it verbally. It’s my role to look for this information and use it to help guide our intervention to achieve the best possible outcomes for the child.”
